David’s son, Richard Galbraith joined David in practice in 1994.
Richard had previously worked at two larger CBD law firms before joining David in Howick.
Richard took over sole ownership of Galbraiths
from David on 1 October 2002. The firm continued to grow, establishing an excellent reputation
as the leading law firm in the Howick area. Richard Galbraith decided to concentrate his time
in developing an internet based Conveyancing service, KeyTrack New Zealand Limited, and in March 2006
sold the practice to existing employees Michael Taylor and Stephen Munro. Both Richard and David
Galbraith then continued as consultants to the firm until David formally retired in March 2008.
Galbraiths continued to grow and purchased Eastland Legal in June 2010. This involved taking on an
additional 10 staff, including appointing the experienced Kelly McCullough as a Senior Associate.
The acquisition of Eastland Legal cements Galbraiths as the leading law firm in the Howick area and
one of the largest in Eastern Auckland.
Galbraiths developed primarily in the property area, however with its growth the firm now
provides a full range of legal services to clients, including commercial and civil litigation,
court work, sale and purchase of businesses, franchising, family and employment law, criminal,
wills and estate planning and advice regarding setting up and administration of family trusts.
The Galbraiths team now comprises of six lawyers and five registered legal executives, who are
assisted by the firms’ qualified accountant and able secretarial staff. We have excellent staff, all of
whom utilize the most up to date technology, to provide the best legal solutions for our clients. We enjoy modern
offices with ample free client parking right outside the door.
